Rug size guide
Choose the right rug size for your room.
A rug should frame the space, not just fill it. Use this guide to choose a size that works for your sofa, bed, dining area or hallway.
| Size | Best for | Styling guidance |
|---|---|---|
| 60 x 110cm | Small accent areas | Best beside a chair, small bedside area or compact hallway space. |
| 80 x 150cm | Bedside / small hallway | Use as a soft step-out rug beside the bed or as a compact runner-style accent. |
| 120 x 170cm | Small living rooms | Works under a coffee table or at the side/foot of a double bed. |
| 160 x 230cm | Living rooms / bedrooms | Ideal everyday size. Place the front sofa legs on the rug for a finished look. |
| 200 x 290cm | Large living rooms / dining | Creates a more premium lounge area and helps dining chairs stay on the rug. |
| Runner sizes | Hallways / landings | Leave visible floor either side and check door clearance before ordering. |
Tip: If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size for a more premium, finished look.
Living room
For a balanced sofa area, choose a rug wide enough to sit under the coffee table and ideally under the front legs of the sofa.
Bedroom
For beds, place the rug under the lower two-thirds of the bed or use smaller rugs either side for a softer step-out feel.
Dining space
Choose a rug large enough for chairs to remain on the rug when pulled out, so the room feels intentional and complete.
Do I need a rug underlay?
We recommend using a rug underlay, especially on hard flooring, to improve grip, reduce movement and help protect both the rug and floor.
How should I clean my rug?
Vacuum gently without a rotating brush where possible. Blot spills immediately and avoid soaking. Professional cleaning is recommended for wool-content or textured rugs.
How are rug returns handled?
Rugs must be unused, unmarked and returned rolled in original packaging. Please contact our team before returning so we can confirm the correct return process.
